Meet Karen Talavera
With over two decades of experience in data-driven digital marketing Karen has been praised as “a pioneer in bringing the power of email marketing to the forefront” and “diligent in staying on top of her field, mastering email marketing not just as a specific practice but also in conjunction with social media and other digital channels”.
She has has been actively involved in shaping the email marketing industry since its inception, first as a member and more recently as Vice-Chair of the Email Experience Council (EEC). Karen pioneered email marketing professional education for the Association of National Advertisers (ANA) and the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) and today boasts more than 20 years of teaching and training for leading organizations such as the Digital Marketing Institute (DMI), American Marketing Association (AMA), eConsultancy, and MarketingProfs. She also custom-designs in-house education programs for private corporate clients.
Her unique depth of email marketing expertise paired with her finely honed direct response mindset has contributed to digital marketing strategy and performance improvements for thousands of marketers across brands spanning financial services, travel, entertainment, DTC, retail, and tech – like Kendo Beauty, AAA, Google, Disney Consumer Products, NASCAR, City National Bank, Foremost Insurance, Pearson Education, Amway and many more.
Karen holds a BA in Communication from the University of Michigan, speaks Spanish, and enjoys international travel. In her spare time, you’ll find her enjoying the outdoors and pursuing one of her many passions including skiing, hiking, riding, meditation, and writing.
